The lovely people at Anti Heroin Chic have featured me in an interview on their journal site. Anti-Heroin Chic is not really about cool, it’s about the margin-of-error of cool. They observe through the window to give a platform to those who are left outside the margin of what is considered ‘hip’ or ‘in’ and give voice to what it means to be ‘outside’ of these things.
Here is a little bit of one of my answers:
“There will be times when you will start to question yourself about whether it’s all worth it, and ask why are you doing this and say you are not good enough. I call these the gremlin voices, they creep up on you now and again. Don’t give up and try and tune them out, it’s not going to be an easy road and there is going to be a lot of hard work but if music is truly what you want to do in life just keep going. For some people music is not a choice it’s a necessity. To think is to create!”
